Doctor Who S04E07
Erm, well. It was funny in places, though not necessarily as much as they intended it to be. But overall, it hit my embarrassment squick so hard that I had the hardest time looking at the screen and not hiding behind the couch. Missed huge chunks of the episode that way. ( Tiny spoiler ) I want fic based on that scene! :) A Stephen Moffat episode in two weeks, yay! |

happy sunday afternoon
Yep, it's a beautiful Sunday here: warm, sunny, breezy, not humid...yesterday was gorgeous as well. The first weekend where both days were nice since October of last year. I got to take Scooter out on a long walk yesterday and today and the poor noodle hardly knows what to do with himself, he's so happy. And tired. Right now he's snoozing in a patch of sunlight on the floor. Good times. The weekend had an inauspicious start; with me and a friend of mine out at Best Buy purchasing a new mouse for my PC. When we came back out to his car to drive back to his place it was dead as Mike Hooley in Blackpool and what started as a brief errand turned into a grand adventure of car-cleaning and tow-truck-arrival-for-an-hour-anticipati In the course of this (which, by the way, imagine trying to pack 7 years' worth of junk from a giant SUV into a wee little Dodge Neon), I was cleaning out all the change from the console. Seven years and probably a hundred plus dollars worth of it. Which he instructed me to put in a ziploc bag, and so I did, and carried it carefully to the back bumper, where it sat while we hefted out a few dozen water bottles and what appeared to be Paddington Bear (!), and then I picked up the bag to carry it over and thought "this is awfully light" at the same time I heard the distinctive metallic rush-and-clatter of coins pouring onto the pavement. And rolling everywhere. Towards the street, under cars, you name it. We both just sat there staring for a moment, as the last few coins spun sadly and slowly down to rest, and then laughed for about five minutes straight. And that's how I ended up climbing under cars after quarters in the middle of the night, on my hands and knees in a Ford dealership lot, half of me wondering why the police hadn't been called on us for suspicious behavior, and the other half wondering whether I was ever going to get the axle grease out of my white oxford shirt. (Hey, I paid nine whole dollars for it in the Boys' department at Wal-Mart) Things improved markedly yesterday (though, in truth, Friday night wasn't dreadful so much as ridiculous). I installed the mouse, the problem with magically closing IE windows appears to be solved, I watched David Tennant read some lucky woman's mind (HOW COME THAT NEVER HAPPENS TO ME?), I got tickets for my sister and myself to the American Idols concert, and I watched "The Unicorn And The Wasp". About which I have two words: Harvey Wallbanger. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA I ♥ this show. Today I've enjoyed some Moonstruck chocolate (thank you thank you oh thank you I hope everyone's weekend is a wonderful one.

A plethora of things. (Oh, I like the word plethora.)
A series of short thoughts: 1. I think the latest episode of Doctor Who ("The Unicorn and the Wasp") might very well be my favorite of the season so far. Which is, for now, all I'll say about that. 2. My Red Sox totally smashed Bill's Brewers yesterday. Go team! 3. Bill is making spaghetti sauce for dinner tonight. And tomorrow. And Wednesday. Yay for freezers. I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it's another pepper sauce. Mmm, pepper sauce. 4. I also made a chocolate pie for dessert after spaghetti. Mmm, chocolate pie. 5. I went estate saleing yesterday for the first time in about a month - nothing interesting at all. It was a fairly disappointing experience; plus, there was traffic. Maybe this Saturday will be better. 6. I got my hair cut yesterday - it's shorter (above my shoulders) again, and the stylist didn't even touch my bangs. Which makes me think - since they're pretty long at the moment - that perhaps I shouldn't just give up, grow up, and let 'em grow out. Eek! No bangs for the first time in what has to be 20 years - I said this to Bill, and all I received in return was a blank look. Men do not understand the importance of hair. 7. Have been playing with the new gallery like mad. It doesn't look half bad, but it's still sort of sparse. 8. I posted the fifth chapter of One Day here and on Teaspoon. My regular reviewers on Teaspoon (and I do have them, there's TWO of them) seem to have disappeared. Either I've lost their interest (hope not) or they've been scared away by the utter slowness of Teaspoon uploading at the moment. I just wish, if Teaspoon needed help, they'd ask. |

Crossroads – One Day, Chapter Five
Title: One Day Disclaimer: I own nothing but a cat. Certainly not Doctor Who. It's very sad. Warnings: PG-13. Spoilers: Set after "Last of the Time Lords", so no spoilers in sight. For the sake of this story, S4 never happens. Beta: Part of the Crossroads series Story Summary: One year after the events of Reflections, Rose Tyler and the Doctor continue to travel the galaxy, relaxing into an easy camaraderie (punctuated by kisses), but they don’t realize that time is catching up to them – and it will do so all in the course of a very long day. Chapter Five: Mister Paralogginstrainosmitt ....The Doctor may talk about Rule One, but he’s very bad at following it. |

Neil Gaiman and Hamlet!
I haven't seen this here... :) From http://journal.neilgaiman.com/2008/05/no "I know that David Tennant's Hamlet isn't till July "To be, or not to be, that is the question. Weeelll.... More of A question really. Not THE question. Because, well, I mean, there are billions and billions of questions out there, and well, when I say billions, I mean, when you add in the answers, not just the questions, weeelll, you're looking at numbers that are positively astronomical and... for that matter the other question is what you lot are doing on this planet in the first place, and er, did anyone try just pushing this little red button?" There. Thanks. Sorry about that."

Y'all. It is 49°F today. FORTY-NINE. In MAY. Seriously, what the hell? Yesterday started out lovely, then turned nasty--although we got a delightful rainstorm--and today it's just cold. I mean, there's a wind chill. A wind chill! I just...I mean, a wind chill. The pool is supposed to open in five days, and there's a wind chill. *boggles* Dave and Jimmy are curled up on the couch watching the Cubs game, which is adorable. *snuggles her men* I suppose I should get out of my PJs at some point, but I'm just so comfy. *sighs* One more cup of coffee, then back to cleaning, I suppose.

The Unicorn and the Wasp
Is it me, or has this entire Season just whupped the Christ out of Season 3? I don't think I have ever laughed so hard at a Doctor Who episode. Comic genius, that's what this is.
